You're waaaay off the beaten path, but need internet for at least a few minutes. You pull out this battery and a Starlink mini, turn it on, set it on the ground....and a few minutes later, Internet! This battery for the Starlink Mini is almost perfect - definitely one of my favorites. The specs claim a 19v 5AH battery, for a total of 95wh. My testing came in at 5.19aH, 114Wh total - great! With my Gen 3 Mini, that works out to 4.5 - 5 hours of use. While I would love to see that up around 8-10 hours, for a solution that is incredibly mobile, I can't complain about the time. Downsides? There are some - though again, keep in mind that this is a HIGHLY portable solution. 1. I would have loved to have a second connection to charge WHILE the Mini was connected. In current form, once your 5 hours runs out, you have to switch to a different battery. It would have been nice to be able to charge while using. Or even connect a solar panel.... 2. The battery uses the Mini pipe adapter. As a compact / all-in-one solution that's great - but at times it would be nice to add a tripod or other mount to improve it's location. A 1/4" threaded mount on the bottom of the battery would be really handy.
This is a quick deployment solution for your Starlink receiver. If you don't want to find a power outlet and string the power cord, attaching the Mini Battery Pack and placing the receiver in the open is a fast fix. The first test of this product was a drop-test. I didn't cinch the receiver locking screw fully and there isn't a detent to in the mounting stub to catch the locking screw. Memo to manufacturer: A detent to catch the mounting screw would be nice. So the unit fell from waist height to the concrete driveway. Not a good start. However, the product simply bounced and there were no cracks. That speaks well for the plastic composition. I replaced the battery pack and made sure that the screw was cinched down and placed the unit in the open. I was concerned that the mount didn't have an adjustable azimuth. However, those concerns were unfounded as checking the alignment showed azimuth was perfect, and only a compass orientation was necessary. This was on a driveway with about 3 degrees of slope. Current draw showed 22 watts even though the receiver was in low-speed mode. I didn't leave it connected to see how long the battery would last. Charging is simple enough with the included power supply. The battery indicator only operates when the battery pack is powered on. The EDUP "Starlink Mini Battery Pack with Mount & Power Adapter" appears to be a good solution for emergency and portable use, and includes everything you need to get operational.
The 19V output works well with the Starlink Mini, and the connection has been stable. No power dropouts so far.
Compact but very useful. It helped a lot for off-grid work and is much easier than carrying a big power station.
This power bank is best for short outdoor work sessions or camping backup. It is much less bulky than a full-size power station. The casing looks durable and feels reassuring in hand. The actual experience is good, but if you often stay off-grid for long periods, one unit may still not be enough.
This works perfectly with your Starlink mini as long as you have the pipe adapter. You have to have the power turned on for it to charge. Power turns on by pushing the round button on the side of the battery. I initially charged the battery to 100% and then attached to the Starlink and it worked perfectly. I decided to buy another one so that I can have one charging while I’m using the other one. Highly recommend!
